This Season’s Most Fashionable Wedding Shoes

The new season is here, well almost. Lookbooks are available to peruse and the high street is already filling up with summer fashions. But what can you expect to wear on your feet? The summer is a season to party, celebrate and generally live it up. Its also open season on weddings, particularly if you are between the ages of 25 and 35. So how will your summer footwear tie in with your wedding fashion? Here are some top tips on the summers hottest wedding shoes.

Pretty Pastels

A pastel colour palette is going to be one of the most coveted seasonal trends this summer and its perfect for weddings. Lilacs, soft pinks, powder blues, mints and yellows are ideal for wedding attire as they are soft, understated, elegant and sophisticated. Peep toe stilettos are your best style choice and are easy to wear away from the church, chapel or registry office. Next currently has a great range of wedding shoes in soft pink and lilac shades. We really love the Patent Island Platform Court Shoes in light pink. They are a steal at just  £26.

Floral

Tropical, floral prints are another key look for summer 2012. Beachy colours of turquoise, yellow, green and blue are ideal, but you can tone it down a little if your heading to a wedding and opt for wedding shoes with a floral pattern on a dark background. This tropical trend is taken right out of the 1980s think Miami Vice and Whams Club Tropicana so bright colours, florals, spandex, Lycra, silk and chiffon rule. You can easily work this into your shoes with a satin or patent finish. The Mesh Floral Print Peep Toe Court Shoes from Next (pictured) are ideal thanks to the striking pattern and unique mesh finish.

Safari

Safari styling is going to be as hot as the African sun this summer. Look for warm shades of gold, brown, red, orange and even some animal print. The overall look is relaxed and casual, with loose fitting clothing, flowing material and bold, eye-catching patterns and prints. But dont think that just because the aesthetic is cool and casual that its not suitable for a wedding situation. We really love the Zebra Print Point Kitten Heel Court Shoes from Next. The low heel gives a casual but elegant feel and the zebra pattern is on-trend, fun and sassy. Check out what Elle.com thinks of animal print here.
