I was recently contacted by a very sweet girl asking me what to wear for college. Her request made me do a little research as I honestly had no idea about how people in the USA dress for college and prepared a short article about that topic. Most people say that college is more casual than high school. In fact many girls suggest that all you need are a few pairs of shorts or cargo pants and t-shirts. Flip flops are ok too. Well, that is good to know if you are not really a fashionista type. However if you like to dress differently every day and actually invest time and money in the way you look, you’d probably try to escape from that super casual image. I even read that people go to school wearing PJs and sweatpants – really???
So here is what I think – pick some nice casual but still cute outfits for every day but also prepare with a few serious looks for the special occasion or just when you feel like it. The casual trends this fall are: mid-calf and maxi skirts, bright pants, camouflage prints, polka dots. When you want to look more preppy or formal go for office dresses, wide-leg pants, high heeled boots, woman tuxedo, plaids and more conservative colors – black, nude or gray.
