If you follow a lot of fashion blogs, you’ve probably noticed that most of them talk about the 2010 trends more and more. I shouldn’t stay behind, that’s why I’ve decided to start a series of trendy outfits combining the 2010 trends. And let’s begin with the one getting most of the negative reviews – double denim. Most fashionistas totally freak out and say they would never wear that trend because it looks super country or so 80s. Some are even getting further saying that wearing double denim outfits is a fashion crime and we should not show on the streets dressed like this. Well, I absolutely don’t think wearing denim jacket and jeans is so wrong or very old-fashioned. After all what is the whole madness around vintage clothing? Aren’t high-wasted pants and skirts so 80s or looking country??? Now that’s something I would never wear, not only because it makes a pretty girl turn into a grandma, but also your butt looks huge. So I am a fan of this 2010 trend and I love putting jeans + denim jacket + even denim shoes and when the outfit is properly matched it doesn’t look country at all! Just the opposite – it’s cute, casual and fashionable. In fact, I really love denim shoes and found some fabulous pairs online, so I will make a post on that subject pretty soon. For all of you, denim fans, I matched two trendy outfits – in blue and black. They are both good for very casual and not so formal occasions – whenever you want to look sexy, but comfortable. The pair of jeans in the 1st outfit is more loose and casual, although half of the fashion blogs predict the trend of baggy (boyfriend) pants is over and the other half say the skinnies are totally done this year. Although you picked some great items here, I don’t think this a trend I can get into!
I used to hate it. (double-denim) but have since seen it pulled off correctly. As long as you stay away from same wash on same wash, I think it can be done. Let the experimenting begin.
PS. Looking back I agree with you, I’d do that one outfit differently now, boots would make it more laid_back but still comfy-cool without the need of sneakers.
