10 Tips for Putting Together a Fall Outfit – part 1

Do you wonder every day what to wear for work and after if going out somewhere. And on the weekends – what to put together as a casual outfit during the day and then as a clubwear? Well I do, too. And that’s why I made up a system that helps me pick my clothes quickly and easily without spending hours staring at the closet. So you have to start step by step, figuring out several things in order and then the desired outfit will finally emerge.

  1. Starting with the occasion – if you have a clear idea where you are going, you will know how should you look – formal and elegant, informal and stylish, casual and cute or casual and sexy. That’s why I have my closet divided into three main sections – clothes for work, stuff for going out or more informal and stylish clothes and casual – the ones I wear on the weekends, when going to visit friends or shopping – pretty much comfy and light garment. Thus when I already know what kind of outfit I need, it’s only one little place I have to look at, not the entire closet. Of course there is some mixing up every now and then, but it’s still easier when its separated into smaller sections.
  2. Next thing you have to decide is the color. At least for me that is super important, because I am a color matching maniac. Let’s say you want to stress on blue today. So you have to pick up either blue pants or blue top. Then the matching garment – usually I would pair blue with white/black if making a work outfit; pink/yellow for casual looks and silver/brown for clubwear. If you have blue shoes – perfect, if not black is always an option unless you have a pair in the matching color. The accessories I will always choose in blue;
  3. Next thing you need to figure out is how do you feel? Yes, that’s right - mood is another important thing when choosing an outfit. So if you feel tired and not so happy, better pick up something comfortable. If today is your lucky day and you are full with energy, something sexy and stylish will make you feel even better. Sometimes when I am trying to prepare my work outfit in the evening, I choose tight pants, sexy top and heels, but then I don’t sleep well and wake up tired which automatically leads to changing the selected apparel into flat comfortable shoes and more simple, loose clothes;
  4. Since we are talking about 10 tips for putting together a FALL outfit we should also consider the weather. That actually may be your number one source when choosing an outfit, because no matter how bad you want to put on that new suede heels, if it is raining and is muddy just forget about them. Also fall clothes tend to be long sleeved and warmer than what we wear in the summer. However if the weather is nice and sunny you may consider still using some of the summer apparel. For example matching shorts with long sleeved shirt or vice verse;
  5. So far these were the “introduction” tips. Let’s continue with the actual parts of the fall outfit. Usually I start with choosing the bottom apparel. So you have to decide are you in a mood for skirt/dress or you’d rather wear some comfy pants today. When that one is chosen you can easily work your way through by picking the top/shirt that will match the bottom by color and design;

These were the first 5 tips on putting together a fall outfit, next ones are coming pretty soon.

And because I am not used to posting articles without any pictures let me show you the cute and affordable Adidas sneakers my best friend found today on Amazon:

adidas Originals Women's Decade Low Sneaker

adidas Originals Women's Superstar 2 Sneaker

Price: $27.98                                                 Price: $27.98

I ordered for her the black & lilac Adidas decade low sneakers which are gorgeous for any casual, but fancy fall outfit especially if you like purple. And they can be also found in white + clay + leaf combination. And for me I got these cute blue Adidas superstar sneakers, because I love casual blue outfits and even more I love when I don’t need to pay for shipping and taxes. So $27.89 – that’s the final price!!! And if you are not a “blue” fan, those cuties are also available in bright pink and white combined with blue, gold or sliver stripes.
