How long does love last?

Since we talked about happiness in the last few posts, I would say it’s time to change the subject and discuss something even more questionable like….love. I am really eager to hear your thoughts on this broad topic. And I am not wondering if love exists as I am convinced it does, but once you find the real love how hard is it to keep it and enjoy it – that’s my main concern…

Somebody asked “How long does love last?” and was hoping for the answer - ”forever“. A lot people said: “If it is true love, it will last forever”…How do we know it is true love and what exactly is it – the thrill and dizziness in the beginning, when you want to be with that person all the time, when you think only about him, when you dream about him, when you talk only about him or later – when being together is not so overwhelming anymore, you still enjoy one another, but now you just know – you can actually live without that person. When exactly our beloved became replaceable? And why do we need to look for “another love” – aren’t we just going into the same circle – thrill and passion, getting to know each other, just habit? What kind are the people who believe love can last forever – people still in the beginning of their relationship or people who have been with somebody for so long that they can no longer imagine starting all over again? Do we really believe that love can last forever or we just let it last forever, because we are afraid of the unknown? It is not that important love to last forever, it is so much better to be in love truly and with all your heart. How can we keep these great first feelings to the end? Is it some kind of a law that they have to disappear in a few months or an year or two? And what is the point of being in a relationship when you no longer feel overwhelmed by that person? When exactly we turn into “just friends”?

I know – too many questions, but when the confusion captures me, the writing sometimes helps to get a more clear idea on the whole picture. So, use the forum and share your opinion on this complicated subject – love and then will continue shopping together
